Daddy's Birthday
I can't believe it has been so long since I have written to you! Time gets away from us so fast and we don't know where it has gone. I started this post to talk to you on a regular basis, since we don't see you that often (because of the distance between where we live), but today I think I will tell you a story about the day your Daddy was born. Someday, when you have a little one of your own, you will see the humor in this.
It started on Friday night (May 23rd). I told your Pops that I knew I would have your Daddy before the next day was over, just a Mother's intuition I guess but I was pretty sure it would happen within the next 24 hours. We went to bed and Pops didn't sleep hardly any. I finally told him to go to sleep and I would wake him up if I needed him so he did. About 6:30 the next morning (Saturday, May 24th) he woke me up and said he was going to go rabbit hunting. Imagine that, Pops going hunting! (Since he went hunting the night Uncle Brad was born, this didn't really surprise me.) Around 8:30 I woke up in labor. Pops was gone and I had no idea where he was hunting and no way to get him. I called your Great Grandpa Eudell (he would have loved you extra special and you would have him too) and to my surprise, he told me I would have to wait, he had someone coming and couldn't go get Pops until after that man had left. I ended up calling him several times and finally he sent Uncle Donnie and Brian to get Pops. Well, when Pops came in he wanted to know if I was sure I needed to go to the hospital. I then procede to ask him if he wanted to die, you see I was closer to having your Daddy than any of us knew. Anyway, he took a shower and went to dry his hair when Uncle Donnie told him he didn't have time for that, he had better hurry and get me to the hospital. My contractions were only 2 minutes apart. Way to close for as far as we lived from town. Well, we got in the truck and started toward Hot Springs. What a ride that was. We ran stop lights, passed cars on the wrong side of the road and basically broke every driving law there was LOL and with good reason. When we got to the hospital, we walked through the front door and my water broke. Twenty minutes later, I was holding one of the biggest blessings to ever enter my life. Your Daddy! 9 pounds 8 ounces of pure joy!
From that day, I gain a daughter-in-law that I love dearly (your Mommy) and a grandson that holds the key to my heart ~ YOU!
Some day you will understand the joy writing this to you gave me. Sharing a part of your daddy's history with you. I hope you like reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it and remembering that very special day 26 years ago.
I love you Seth! You are an extention of the love I have felt for your Daddy the last 26 plus years and will continue for eternity.
May you have as blessed a life as I have.

You are ONE YEAR OLD!
Good morning munchkin.
Where to begin..... It has been so long since I wrote to you I don't know where to start. You have had ALL your firsts, including your birthday. WOW, where has the time gone? I haven't seen you for a week. Your Pops and I came up to Subi last weekend to celebrate your first birthday. What a party. So many people came to celebrate your birth.
Seth, when you get old enough to read this, the main thing I want you to know is that you are one loved little/big boy. If there was one thing I could change, it would be that we lived closer to you.
A few weeks ago, Pops and I came up to keep you so Mommy and Daddy could go to a golf tournament dinner, Mommy worked Friday night, and Daddy was playing golf all weekend so we had you some without them. Saturday night you woke up with a fever of 104.4. You scared your Nanny to death.
I don't remember ever being scared like that when Uncle Brad and Daddy were growing up, although I know I was. But, it was different with you.
Nanny loves Uncle Brad and Daddy. Always have, always will, but I have always been told it is different with your grandchildren. Well, if you are any indication, it is WAY different.
Holding you while you were so hot, it felt like you were going to burst into flames. I have always missed not seeing you, but after that, All I have to do is think of you and I burst into tears. It just brought home to me that we don't see you near enough. I know it is no ones fault and the circumstances can't be helped. It isn't feasible for either your parents or us to just pick up and move. Also, we are about half way between your Uncle Brad and you and Daddy. When Uncle Brad has kids, we will be in the center where we need to be. But, that doesn't keep me from missing you. Seems like I have missed you really bad this summer for some reason. I have no idea why, but I will be glad when you are big enough to come stay a week or so with us.
There are so many things I would love to say and write, but it is almost 2 o'clock in the morning and I have to get up for church.
I will post pictures of your birthday later, but for know just know one thing.
YOU ARE VERY LOVED BY YOUR NANNY AND POPS!

Nanny's little Man!!!
Good morning Seth ~ it has been way to long since I have posted anything to you.
As it so happens, I have tried to post on several occasions and due to computer glitches among other things, when I get almost done, I lose everything. This just happend to me a few minutes ago. Posted a long one, added some pictures for you and poof ~ gone. I am going to post again now while I am sitting up with your great grandma Wilma, and get it saved one way or another. So.....
A lot of things have happened since my last post to you. You have grown like crazy and are rolling over and trying to crawl. You know, it really stinks being a long distance grandparent. The only way I get to see your first(s), is if Mommy or Daddy get it on their camera and send it to me. They are really good about that and I am so thankful for their thoughtfulness. It is better than not seeing it at all, but not as good as being there would be.
You weigh in at almost 18 lbs and for a 5 1/2 months that is good. You called me on Daddys phone a week or so ago and thrilled me to pieces. Of course you didn't know you were doing it, but that didn't matter to me.
You have had your first Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas now and I got to see you on all three occasions. Your mommy and daddy bring you down at least every other weekend so that we can see you. There have been very few times since you hit 6 weeks old that we have gone longer than 2 weeks without seeing you and we have no intention of it being any longer than that if there is any way possible.
Here are a few pictures of your "firsts" for memory sake ~
Here are some more just for memory sake ~
and more.....
and one more very special one.....
You are now eating baby food and love the stuff, you can hold your bottle for the most part, but still get a little tired of it, and roll all over the floor. AND last but definately not least, you are one happy little boy.
Just know that your grandparents love you so much, and are so proud of you they could burst.
We love you Seth and look forward to seeing you this weekend.

Good morning sweetheart. It has been a week since I have seen you, but I talk to your daddy everyday. I never fail to ask how my little darling is doing. You had your two week check up a week ago and have gained 4 ounces above your birth weight. The doctors really only expect you to gain back to your birth weight, so you have done great! You also shrank and inch. LOL We know that that is because your little head was so coned! It just went back to normal. Tomorrow, your Pops and I are bringing your Uncle Kenneth and Aunt Corita to see you for the first time. They have not been able to come up there as of yet and so want to see you in person. Your mommy and daddy are coming to Hot Springs next week end so I should get a chance to see you then too. Can't wait to get my hands on you tomorrow and kiss those little fat cheeks.
I love you so much already and you are only 3 weeks old. I love my boys, and now my girls (since I didn't have girls until the boys married), but you are a different story all together. I have always heard that grandbabies are just that grand. I can honestly say that you are more than GRAND to your Nanny. Let there never be a doubt or insecure feeling in your little heart that you are one loved little boy!
Before you and I both know it, you will be old enough to come see your Nanny, and maybe spend a week with me. We will see when the time comes. I sure hope so.
Always know that we love you. Nanny

Good afternoon Munchkin. Yesterday your Daddy called and said that your Mommy might have you yesterday or today. So far you are being hard headed and have NOT made an appearance. Your Daddy and the rest of us was kind of hoping you would come yesterday on your great grandpas birthday, but the Lord has other plans for you. That's OK. We don't want you to come until you are suppose to. If you don't come before Wednesday, July 14th, we will get to see you then. I have packed Pops and my things in readiness for your arrival. We are ready to jump and run when your Daddy calls us. I am not sleeping very good, don't want to not hear the phone if it rings in the middle of the night. We are so excited about meeting you.... You are one loved little boy that has yet to be seen. We love you, Nanny and Pops

Good morning Munchkin! Well, once again it has been a while since I have posted to you. Your Nanny has a garden that has been putting off fresh veggies like crazy. I have been so busy I don't know which way to turn. I did however manage to take a Monday off a couple weeks ago (June 7th) and go to Subi to meet Mommy and then on to Clarksville where your Daddy met us and guess what..... I got to see you! I went with them to the last ultra sound they will do on your Mommy. How exciting is that? Then we went to lunch. I had a great time visiting with them and seeing you.
After that, on June 12th, we had a baby shower for you. That is when Mommy and Daddy told us your name..... SETH GREYSON ..... Now I can call you something besides Munchkin. You know, Munchkin has kinda of taken hold and I may still call you that instead.
Today is July 1st, you are due in 20 days. Mommy went to the hospital on June 21st thinking that you may be coming then but the doctors were able to keep that from happening. We are soooooo ready to meet you, but, we don't want you coming to early so I am glad that they were able to do that. Now if Mommy tries to have you, they will let her. Just wait though until you are ready. I have waited this long, I can wait a little while longer.
Love you bunches.........Nanny
